What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are treatments that are used to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, coming in a wide variety of chemical solutions and depth of treatment. A Jessner peel is a popular medium-depth chemical peel that works to gently remove the top layers of damaged or dull skin and minimize fine lines and exfoliate the skin. The Vivier peel is considered a modified Jessner, offering the same quality ingredients but at a lower percentage for a gentler exfoliation. This peel is perfect for those with sensitive skin or have a big event they want to look amazing for.

How do Chemical Peels work?

Jessner and Vivier peels are comprised of three primary ingredients. These ingredients work together to exfoliate the outer layers of skin by breaking up dead skin cells. During your treatment, your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and then the peel chemicals are applied. This treatment encourages natural peeling to start several days after the chemical treatment.

Do Chemical Peels Hurt?

With the exception of skin redness and general tingling sensation when the solution is applied, there is no reported pain.

When will I see results and how long will they last?

Depending on the number of sessions, results may vary. Generally, the skin will peel and flake for about a week after the treatment and may look sunburned and dry. Once the old skin has peeled away, you’ll be left with refreshed and glowing skin. The amount of peeling observed is not an indication of the effectiveness of the treatment. For optimal results, multiple treatments need to be done, typically a minimum of 3 sessions. Results can be maintained with a medical grade skin care regimen.

Are Chemical Peels safe?
